I want to thank you all for all your comments on the blog. It was a very tough week for me. I finally felt physically very strong and I thought that the work that I have been doing for the last months has finally paid off. I also want to thank all my team for their work and effort with me. Quiero mandar un mensaje de agradecimiento por todos vuestros comentarios en el blog. Ha sido una semana muy buena para mi y que por fín me he encontrado al 100% fisicamente. El trabajo de estos ultimos meses ha tenido su fruto y que me da un “plus” de confianza para el resto del año. Quiero agradecer a mi equipo por la gran labor y esfuerzo que están haciendo cada dia. Hello everyone again!! Im sorry for not writing in such a long time but I didnt want to write anything until I started competing again. I won first round today against Rochus (6-3 6-2) in first round. It was a great macth since I was very motivated after all these weeks without competing. After some weeks of hard training at the academy I was very much looking forward to start again. Im playing well so I hope I can stay out of injuries and do well in the tournaments…I know I can do it and IM very motivated for it. Im glad to write you guys again and I hope I can hear back from you very soon. Regards from Casablanca

Hola a todos otra vez. Siento no haber escrito en tanto tiempo pero queria empezar a escribir cuando empezara a competir y cuando estuviera curado de mi lesión. Hoy he ganado a Rochus en primera ronda de Casablanca por 6-3 ny 6-2 en un partido bastante bueno para mi. Después de unas semanas muy completas en la academia de entrenamiento físico y tenis, tenía muchas ganas de volver a empezar. Llevo varias semanas sin ningún tipo de molestia y esto me motiva porque sé que si estoy bien fisicamente puedo hacerlo muy bien. En Suramérica me encontre muy bien de tenis asique espero en este torneo seguir jugando bien y estar al 100% fisicamente. me alegra volver a escribir y espero que tener noticias vuestras. Un abrazo

His blog from 9th April – Victoria!

Good morning! Yesterday, I beat Starace in a tough match. The matches on the centre court before my match were quite long and it took a while for my match to start. I won the first set 6-4 and in the second set I had few options to finish (5-4 and 6-5 serving), however, I could not take advantage of these opportunities and I had to wait until the tie-break in order to finish the set.
I have the day off today. I will get a massage and a good stretching so I can be more than ready for my match in quarters against Hanescu, who beat Ivan Navarro in an easy match. I will talk to you tomorrow. Regards!!

Buenos dias. Ayer gané a Starace en un partido muy duro y que se retrasó debido a la duración de los partidos que había antes en mi pista. En el segundo set tuve opciones para acabar (5-4 y 6-5 y saque) pero no pude cerrar y acabé ganando en el tie-break. Hoy tengo día de descanso que me vendra muy bien, aprovecharé para darme un masaje y estirar bien y estar listo para el partido de mañana contra Hanescu, que ganó muy cómodo a Ivan Navarro. Un saludo y mañana hablamos.

Hello everyone. Im not going to write too much cause Im about to go and have dinner with my coach but I wanted first to write you all and let you know how glad I am after my victory today.
I was a tough match, specially because it was very windy and playing was very uncomfortable. I knew I had to be mentally ready from the beginning in order to win the match. Winning the first set helped me a lot and gave me confidence for the second and final set. This finale measn a lot (I hope you all understand). I needed a good result to bring my confidence back. Tomorrow is going to be a good day. Hughes to everyone from Casablanca.

Hola a todos. Nos os voy a escribir mucho porque me voy ahora mismo a cenar con mi entrenador pero quería antes escribiros y deciros que hoy me siento muy contento. Ha sido un partido muy duro desde el principio, con mucho viento e incómodo para jugar. Sabía que tenía que estar muy centrado desde el principio y que iba a ser un partido duro de cabeza. He conseguido ganar el primer set y eso me ha ayudado mucho. Esta final significa mucho (espero y sé que lo entendeis), necesitaba un buen resultado que me diera confianza. His blog post from 8th March – Vamos España!!

Hello everyone. As you may already know Spain beat Serbia today in the Davis Cup, so I would like to congratulate Rafa, Feli, Tomy and David and of course Albert Costa for his first win as the Spanish captain. Yesterday I went to watch David’s match against Jokovic and he played a great and very solid match. After that I had to come back to the academy to do some physical training. On Monday I will see my doctor and he will check my wrist. We will also decide if I can finally start on Monday to hit a little bit. I would like to tell you something more about tournaments and matches as I was doing in South America but we all need to wait for the moment. I really hope I can give you good news very soon. I also hope you are doing well…..please keep writing messages.

Hola a todos, como ya sabreis España ha ganado a Serbia tras ganar hoy Nadal a Jokovic. y me gustaría dar la enhorabuena a Rafa, Feli, Tomy y David, y por supuesto a Albert Costa por su estreno como capitán. Ayer estuve alli por la mañana viendo a David Ferrer y jugó un gran partido. Después regresé a la academia porque tenía que entrenar físico. El lunes veré con el médico como va la muñeca y decidiremos si puedo entrenar un poco con raqueta. Me gustaría poder contaros algo mas acerca de torneos y partidos como lo hice en Suramérica pero de momento hay que esperar….estoy deseando daros mejores noticias. Espero que todos esteis bien y seguir escribiendo. Un abrazo para todos y todas!!

His blog post from 12th March – Primer torneo: Casablanca

I withdrew from Indian wells since I didnt have that much time to get ready for the tournament. Even though, I dont feel any pain and the recovering has been very positive we rather waiting and prepare well the tournaments on clay in Casablanca and Montecarlo.

Besides the physical training I have been doing for the last two weeks, I have already started practicing tennis on the court. I hit with carlos Boluda for the last few days here at the academy and I didnt feel any pain in either my wrist or my hip so Im very happy and motivated about continuing training and getting ready for the tournaments.

I already played tennis this morning and I will do some more physical training this afternoon.

I hope all of you are doing well….I have to go to eat now sorry!, some friends are waiting for me..

Me he borrado del torneo de Indian Wells porque era demasiado precipitado. Aunque no tengo ningún dolor y la recuperación ha sido muy positiva preferimos no precipitarnos y preparar los torneos de tierra batida en Casablanca y Montecarlo. A parte del físico que he hecho durante estas 2 últimas semanas, ya he empezado a entrenar en pista. He jugado un par de dias seguidos con Carlos Boluda aqui en la academia y no me ha molestado ni la muñeca, ni la cadera por lo que estoy bastante contento. Esta mañana he vuelto a entrenar tenis un rato mas, algo mas de una hora y esta tarde seguiré con trabajo de físico. Espero que esteis todos bien….me marcho a comer que me esperan..J.C

Im sorry since I didnt write you guys in the whole day. I had a relaxing day today after the match I had yesterday against Marcel Granollers. It was very tough and I finished exhausted. There were moments on the court with more than 40 degress…unreal!

I play against Nabaldian tomorrow, centre court, second match after 7.30. I dont know if it will be shown on TV but it will be very late in Spain. Complicated match in Buenos Aires against Nabaldian, in front of his crowd..but Im very motivated for tomorrow…Sorry but now I have to go to sleep…Lets talk soon.

Siento no haber escrito en todo el dia. Hoy tuve un dia de descanso total después del partido de Granollers de ayer. Fue muy duro y acabe bastante cansado la verdad. Hubo momentos de mas de 40 grados en la pista…. Mañana juego último partido del dia contra Nabaldian, pista central, segundo partido de las 7.30. No se si lo televisarán pero será de madrugada en España. Partido duro, en Buenos Aires Nabaldian con su gente pero estoy con muchas ganas para este partido….Ahora os dejo que me voy a dormir…Hablamos J.C

Hey guys, I play second round against Marcel Granollers, second match after 1.45. I already have practiced today and you can not imagine how hot it is here, it is crazy today!!

I played a great match last night, I felt faster than usual and I had good sensations during the match. I played a serius match with few mistakes from the baseline and high percentage of first serves, using very well my out-wide spin serve. I hope I can feel the same way during my match tomorrow, but it will hard with this hot….I need to be ready!

Sorry but I need to go now, Im going to rest to the hotel. Be aware that it is three hours less than back in Spain (Europe)

Chicos/as, mañana juego segundo partido de la 1.45 contra Marcel Granollers en segunda ronda. Hoy en entrenado y el calor que esta haciendo es una locura. Anoche jugue un buen partido, me note rapido y con buenas sensaciones. Jugue un partido serio y con pocos errores desde el fondo de la pista. y con un alto porcentage de primeros saques y usando muy bien el saque abierto liftado. Espero mañana estar tambien con buenas sensaciones, pero sera duro con este calor….hay que estar preparado. Un abrazo a todos, os dejo que voy al hotel a descansar. Tener en cuenta que son 3 horas menos que en España. J.C

I arrived to Buenos Aires yesterday night. Im in the hotel right now. I will go to the club in a little bit to practice with David Marreo. I have another court this afternoon to do some exercises with my coach as well. Yesterday I only did some conditioning training with my coach after having a day off (after the quarters match I played against Bellucci. I had so many chances to win that match but he fired up and ended up with the victory. The crowd helped him a lot. I was a little pissed after the match because I had many opportunities to win and also because I felt good during the match. However, I have to realize that I didnt know at the beginning of the tournament if I was even going to be able to play, and I ended up playing 3 complete matches. I have now to keep getting more and more confidence on my game and try to have a good tournament here too. I play first round against Calleri so once again I will have the crowd against me The order of play is not out yet so I dont know if I will play tomorrow or Tuesday. I will keep you updated ok. Llegue anoche tarde a Buenos Aires. Estoy en el hotel y en un rato ire al club que entreno con David Marrero a las 2. Y esta tarde entrenaré junto a mi entrenador otro rato. Ayer sólo entrene fisico despues de tener un dia de descanso tras el partido de cuartos frente a Bellucci. La verdad es que tuve muchas opciones para ganar pero al final Bellucci se vino arriba y acabé perdiendo. El público la verdad es que le ayudó mucho. Acabé algo cabreado porque tuve muchas opciones y me encontraba bien para ganar ese partido, pero tengo que tener en cuenta que no sabía que iba a pasar al comienzo del torneo debido a mis dolores en la muñeca y al final pude jugar 3 partidos completos. Ahora toca seguir ganando poco a poco la confianza y esperar que aqui pueda tener un buen torneo. Me ha tocado contra Calleri asique tendré al público en contra otra vez El orden de juego no sale hasta esta tarde por lo que no sé si juego mañana o pasado. Os iré informando ok. Hello everyone, today is my 29th birthday and I wanted to thank you for all your support on this special day. There is everytime more and more people from everywhere in the world signing up in our blog and this makes me so happy and Im tremendously thankful to all of you. About my match against Dabul…it was easier than I thought. The conditions of the courts were terrible and it was very difficult to move well (I ran to get one ball and I felt down at the end of the first set and we had to stop the match for about 15 minute). Today I play quarters against Bellucci (BRA). He is left handed and he has a agressive forehand and serve. I hope we can all celebrate my birthday with a victory today.

Hola a todos, hoy cumplo nada mas y nada menos que 29 anos y queria sobre todo agredeceros todo vuestro apoyo en un dia tan especial. Cada vez son mas los amigos y amigas que se meten en el blog desde todas las partes del mundo y de verdad que estoy muy agradecido. En cuanto al partido de ayer, fue un partido mas facil de lo esperado. No conocia a Dabul y entre muy centrado por lo que pudiera pasar. Las condiciones de la pista eran terribles y se hacia muy dificil moverse ya que resvalaba demasiado (hasta el punto que tuve una caida algo aparatosa que hizo que parasemos el partido unos 15 minutos). Hoy juego contra Thomas Bellucci (BRA). Es zurdo y tiene un juego agresivo sobre todo con su derecha y su servicio. Espero que todos podamos celebrar mi cumpleanos con una victoria. Un abrazo J.C

Hey everyone, Im at a internet cafe right now. As you may already know Im playing tomorrow against Albert Montanes. Its not the fisrt time I played against him but he is playing really well on clay and he is seeded number 3 on the tournament. Yesterday I only did fitness because I have some pain on my wrist and I did not want to force it. Hola a todos, Estoy en un ciber en Brasil. Como ya habreis visto no juego primera ronda hasta manana martes. Juego contra Albert Montanes que ya le he ganado otras veces pero esta jugando bien y va de cabeza de serie numero 3 en el torneo. Ayer solamente trabaje fisico porque tenia un poco de molestias en la muneca pero esta tarde voy a al club para entrenar tenis y ver que tal vamos.
